Screen on the Green
From June 21st until September 1st, NE1 is returning with Screen on the Green, a completely open air cinema in the heart of Newcastle! Located in Old Eldon Square, Screen on the Green is the perfect summer activity for friends, families or anyone wanting to get out and about in the sunshine. In addition to screening two feature films a day during the six weeks of school summer holidays, there will also be screenings of a range of sporting events including the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Cricket World Cup and the British Grand Prix. Founded in 2000, Wylam Brewery is a Micro Brewery that is situated in the beautiful Palace of Arts in Exhibition Park, just a stone’s throw away from us here at Great North Hotel. One of our greatest features here in the North East is our beautiful coastline, and with Tynemouth beach a short 20 minute drive away with direct and regular public transport links, it would be a shame not to explore while you’re staying with us! Right on the coast, the centre of Tynemouth always has plenty to do, especially over the summer months with a market hosted every weekend, you can get your fill of food, drinks, trinkets, and everything in between.
